My Dream Job? 

 I don’t really have a dream job. My dream is just to have a job. What pulls me to game art is that I am able to constantly be learning new things. That is what I love to do is to learn. I guess I lean toward caricature design because I like drawing people. I like to be challenged each and every day. I like that every day I could be working on something different and that I have to keep trying new things. Monotony is hell. Right now I just want to get better.

Introduction of Samus

 At the start of the story she is a cop. She is innocent looking and doesn’t have her suit.
 It starts with her in the mission. Like the start of the mission. Her squad gets ambushed by the metroid. Which they know nothing about have no way to fight it.
 It is an impossible.
 Her squad dies. She is the lone survivor.
 When she returns they try to cover it up and don’t give the respect to her fallen comrades. this is what makes her leave the force.
 Ideas:
 I like the image of a shot helmet.
 Maybe what happens is the ship lands and she immediately gets attacked. They witness the metroid sucking the life from a person in their squad. One latches onto samus’s head and one of her teammates shoots her. The rest of the shoot is just in and outs of her squad getting destoried.

Elizabeth Miksch - Week 2 HW

I have always love Samus because she was so strong and powerful. It never mattered that she was a girl. She has a very strong and silent personality that just get things done. Samus Aran lost her parents and her planet at the age of 3. She came from a mining planet that was attacked by space pirates led by Ripley. She was then taken in by birdlike creatures that had lived so long they could not reproduce anymore. Because their planet was in such harsh conditions for humans they spliced their dna with Samus’, They raised her and trained her for combat. Samus joined the Galactic Federation as a soldier. She then would leave because she had disagreements with her commanding Officer and become a bounty hunter. She is frequently called on to fight metroids, life draining organisms. Samus lives in a futuristic sifi world. She would mostly stay on her ship unless she had a mission. Where she would go down to planets that were mostly destroyed or barren. because she would only be called in when the army couldn’t handle it or it was too late. She is basically the clean up crew. What I want to focus on is the time when she leaves being a soldier and becomes a bounty hunter. I basically want to create an origin story for samus. I have this Idea that is works on her power suit alone and keeps it in good condition.Making her kind of a mechanic. This is before she starts making money. It would be her first mission with very few resources at her disposal. As she travels through a planet riddled with Metroids she scavenges for scraps and upgrades her suit. A Couple of inspirations for me are Halo, Dead Space, and The latest Tomb Raiders. The story I chose is Cinderella. It has been hard to find a parallel that I could use. I was thinking about while she was with the federation that would be like her step family. They over use her and don’t give her enough credit for what she does. So she becomes a mercenary. Freeing herself from them. On her first mission she encounters Ridley (the prince haha) and takes something of his. So he is hunting her down to get it back.
