Jaret Sites - Week 9 HW
Dream Job
I'm not entirley certain what my dream job would be in the videogame development
industry. For now I'd like to think that becoming an art director or lead designer for an
independent game studio developing games that I love would be extremely rewarding. Being
involved in gameplay design is very important to me as well as the visual design aspect of
videogame development. At some point in the future I hope to be in a position where I have as
much influence as I possibly can over the creative aspects of a videogame project because to me,
that makes it more personal. Though I'd also enjoy being a part of a large collaborative
experience as well, so in the end I want to have experience with both. Currently I'd be satisfied
working in the entertainment industry at all producing artwork in 3D and 2D but I hope to
expand on my creative freedom in these fields later in the future.

Jaret Sites - Week 6 HW
● Wide angle shot of a metropolis city fully lit up during the nighttime
● Camera pans downwards towards the darker lit dystopian slums of the city
● Camera stops panning and refocuses on a close up shot of a suspended catwalk in a residential area with cloudy mists rising up from the depths below
● Aggressive shouting can be heard from somewhere out of view, "Someone grab her!" "Waste that bitch!"
● Gunshots are heard out of view until one bullet zips past the camera view and hits a concrete wall.
● A red cloak whips past the camera view across the catwalk. Red is on run.
● Camera cuts to a close up shot of thugs running through the slums. Their feet hitting the pavement, their guns firing frantically, their shouting echoing through the streets.
● The camera cuts quickly to a wide shot front view of the gang of thugs searching for their target while the silhouette of Red enters the foreground atop another catwalk to watch watch them before moving quickly across the view.
● Camera cuts to a medium shot of the thugs pointing their guns in every direction in caution, holding their fire so they can observe carefully.
● Camera cuts to a medium shot of a thug with a street lamp overhead in the background. The light is shot out and the alleyway goes dark
● The lights are shot out and the thugs become panicked in the dim light
● Red comes down from above and kicks gangster ass with EMP emissions from her arm and koo-ra- te
● One of the thugs gets the better of her and knocks her down. Another stands over her and aims his gun at her face as she kneels to get up
● Camera cuts to a close up of Red's face, eyes noticing the gun pointed at her. her eyes look panicked and defeated. Before the gangster can execute her, she closes her eyes and has a ~~flashback~~ and the camera view fades to black
● Camera cuts to close up of Red's face, eyes closed. Red's eyes open.
● Camera cuts to a medium shot of Red as a child lying in a bed in some kind of orphanage.
● Gameplay of Red exploring the orphanage. Red plays with other children in the orphanage and goes scavenging in a junk yard. When Red returns she has a scheduled psychological evaluation. Red enters room for psychological assessment.
● Camera cuts to an over-the- shoulder view of Red sitting in a chair facing a psychotherapist. The psychotherapist asks her questions about her past life when she lived with her parents. Red answers the questions and describes her past life. Eventually the psychotherapist asks questions about the incident during which Red's home was attacked by gangsters and her parents were killed. This triggers Red and she physcially attempts to block out the trauma by burrowing her head into her arms. She rexperiences the incident audibly
● Camera cuts to black at the sounds of a gunshot.
● Camera cuts to close up of Red's face, eyes closed. Red's eyes open.
● Camera cuts to close up of the gangster aiming his gun out of view towards the camera. The gangster falls dead.
● Camera cuts to medium shot of Red turning to face the other gangster.
● Camera cuts to medium shot of the other gangster coming to the realization that someone else shot his comrade from somewhere in the shadows. The gangster turns to look around and another gun shot sounds off, ending his life with a bullet to to the brain.
● Camera cuts to wide shot of Red amongst all the dead bodies of the gangsters.
● Camera cuts to medium shot of Red looking in a new direction towards the shadows.
● Camera cuts to medium shot of an alley covered in shadow. A new voice is heard. The dark figure of The Huntsman steps out from the shadows and into the light.

Jaret Sites - Week 3 HW
● During Red's childhood, gangsters attack Red and her family, killing her parents and dismembering her arm
● Red becomes an or orphan and is adopted by an elder woman from the slums
● The elder woman becomes Red's grandmother and gives her a prosthetic arm and red cloak
● Red saves a man being attacked in the slums by stabbing one of the same gangsters that killed her parents with her prosthetic arm
● The man Red saved, The Huntsman, takes Red under his wing, trains her to become a vigilante, and retrieves cybernetic augmentations for her body
● Word of the gangster's death reaches Alpha, his brother and leader of the gang, The Pack, and they put a headhunt out on the killers
● Red becomes an or orphan and is adopted by an elder woman from the slums
● The elder woman becomes Red's grandmother and gives her a prosthetic arm and red cloak
● Red saves a man being attacked in the slums by stabbing one of the same gangsters that killed her parents with her prosthetic arm

Jaret Sites - Week 2 HW
Sci-fi/Red Riding Hood
It's the year 2125. During Red's childhood, Red went by a different name and lived
happily with her parents in the mid-level district of her city. Red was an adventurous
rebellious sort who used to be fascinated with the relics of the old world before the urban
jungle sprawled and replaced the ancient green with steel, concrete, and glass. She would
sometimes go out from home through a secret path to scavenge in the slums of the city's
lower level district with the local children for sentimental trinkets that had worn away
over the years. These were anomalies in the new world but she cherished them and
accepted them like they were a timeless treasure. One day when she was still a child, her
parents were killed by a gang leader and his pack of thugs after they breached the mid-
level district. Red survived the onslaught and became an orphan and was then adopted by
an elderly woman who called herself Red's grandmother. She took good care of Red in
her home unit in the slums of low-level district, and tried to make her forget about her
troubled past. Red's grandmother gave her her adored red riding hood as a welcoming
gift. It was a blood red hood that symbolized the link between family, a promise from the
elderly woman to love Red as her own blood related kin. Red, however, never forgot
about her parents and the cruelness of the world that killed them. Red vowed to protect
the only family she has left, her grandmother, no matter the cost, even if it put her own
life at risk. She developed a strong sense of justice because of that. As she grew up in the
slums, Red's personality hardened and she grew stronger yet more cynical. In the modern
day Red is 26 years old. She has a light youthful complexion, short dark brown hair, and
green hazel eyes. Her ethnicity is unknown. She's 5'8" with an athletic build. She wears a
dark skin tight full body suit with tactical gloves and boots with flexible light armored
plating customized to fit to her augmented body. Red wears her worn red riding hood for
her outerwear even in her adult years. She almost never takes it off and usually conceals
her weapons underneath. Red wields a small variety of military grade equipment
holstered on her suit. Her most useful weapon is her own body which is augmented for
combat, stealth, and mobility. She gets most of her equipment and augmentations from
underground connections in the slums formed from her former history as a political
activist. She once belonged to a faction that revolted against the supreme government in
an effort to balance the power dynamic of the city and its citizens to buff the fight against
crime but failed to make an impact. After they failed, the group disbanded and now all
Red can do to make the world a better place is to keep the peace on her local streets
through more aggressive means in a crooked city where gang bangers rule the low-level
district and oppress the common people to get ahead. Now Red has taken the role of a
merciless vigilante because sometimes the only way to hunt a big bad wolf is to become a
big bad wolf yourself.

Jaret Sites - Week 1 HW
SOMA
In the game you play as Simon Jarett one hundred years in the future. You are on a mission to navigate through an underwater facility as abominable synthetic organic creatures try to stop you. The ideas and themes explored in this story aren’t usually explored in other games.Themes like subjective experience, consciousness, identity, and artificial intelligence. The game belongs to the sci-fi horror genre. Throughout the game there are disturbing plot twists and the themes usually present themselves most heavily at those points in the game and the player is confronted with disturbing ideas about the self that usually plays into the few choices the player has to make in the game. A lot of the science fiction and concepts in the game are thoroughly explained and some are tied to the mechanics of the game and give a high sense of believability and coherency. This creates intense immersion, adding a lot to the horror experience. The game also doesn’t consist of complex gameplay but relies on simple interactions with the environment to progress. There is a sense of vulnerability in your limited abilities. All these elements combined add up to an intense horror experience but the story is so interesting that it keeps pulling you forward through hellish encounters physically and psychologically.
