------
My ideal position in the game industry, especially given the rising prominence of 3D printing, would be as a digital sculptor for a company like Games Workshop or USAopoly (where I have already worked). As much as I personally enjoy video gaming, I’ve found that the experience of translating digital sculpture into tangible objects is highly rewarding. I’ve spent time at a board game company producing 3D models for tokens, and found that I particularly enjoy seeing my work printed and eventually cast in metal. While I would happily work as a 3D modeler for a video gaming company, I’ve found that focusing on high-poly modeling without the extra pipeline surrounding unwrapping, projection, and texture painting is more in tune with my strengths and interests.
